At Castle Bagpipes we offer tuition and workshops for everyone from the complete beginner to intermediate and experienced players.
We cover all aspects of music theory and bagpipe performance and all of our instructors are certified by the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board.
If you want to improve your finger technique, sort out your bagpipe steadiness, learn some more demanding tunes, tackle you first piobaireachd, enter your first competition or just become a better musician then Castle Bagpipes can help you take the next steps in a friendly and relaxed learning environment.
Our individual lessons are the fast track way to success. One on one intensive tuition where we can cover any ground you feel necessary to achieve your own personal goals. We can help set these targets and keep a diary of your achievements, your practice regime and a plan of your next steps to help you get as much for every session as you possibly can. However, it should be noted that there are no shortcuts and that great basic technique is fundamental – but don’t worry, we can help with that!
Learning in small groups can sometimes be more effective than tackling things on your own. We find this particularly true for our younger learners. This is why we give you the opportunity to get together with some friends and attend a lesson as part of a group. We do not offer ‘open group sessions’ but rather, if you have a friend or small group form the same pipe band that want to take lessons together with one of our teachers, get in touch and we will be as accommodating as possible!
At Castle Bagpipes we appreciate that not everyone is within reaching distance of a face to face lesson – this is obviously the case during the current Covid-19 pandemic. This is why we offer one to one tuition over the internet. With the use of Skype and Zoom we can conduct a full bagpipe lesson with students around the globe.
